What We Accept E-mail attachments or artwork uploaded via Starlight on-line ordering system is the preferred method of receiving files. (Mac format preferred or PC format) Black & White Photostats on photographic paper Laser-printed original output at 600-dpi minimum Black vinyl cut from a plotter (and weeded!) Sending Artwork via E-mail or Disks In either case, please include the following: Artwork appropriately formatted Font(s) used in any documents or artwork. Please place fonts in a folder when e-mailing. If your browser does not support an attached folder, you may compress your fonts and attach them as a zipped file. Document information Save layout documents under: Adobe Photoshop 2.0 - 5.0 Adobe Pagemaker 6.0 - 6.5 Multi-Ad Creator 3.5 - 4.05 Quark Xpress 3.32 - 4.1 Save text documents (unformatted only) under: Artwork information .EPS Font information PC Files When document(s) and/or artwork are created on a PC, convert Font files to curves or outlines. When the document(s) and/or artwork are created on a Mac, convert Font files to outlines or include the following: Both the screen and printer fonts Each version (regular, bold, italic) of the fonts used Cast Plaque Artwork Requirements For best reproduction in the casting process, please make sure your artwork conforms to these requirements: The smallest letters for cast plaques are at least 1/4" caps or 3/8" caps/lower case. Minimum spacing between letters is 1/16". Recessed letters Minimum letter stroke of 1/8" at all points including serifs. Recessed areas require 1/8" minimum line width. All other areas between objects require 1/16" minimum space. Thin lines must be at least 4 points in width. Custom Cast Letters Artwork Requirements Custom letter styles are initially generated from a digital file. Matthews has access to fonts from the following sources: Adobe Illustrator v8.0 Gerber Graphix Advantage v6.2 (Standard Fonts) If the type style is available, no art is required with your order.
